Jeff & Sally's Annual New Years Eve Party!

We joined our friends Jasper and Danita Fant, JJ & Carmen Proctor, Ryan Atkins and Suzy Cook, Suzanne Godbold, Brandon and Sarah Hanks, Aaron and Kim Jacobi, and Zach and Samantha Bevil at Jeff and Sally's New Year's Eve Party.  We played Citizens Against Humanity "A Game for Horrible People" which is a bit like Apples to Apples.  We had a lot of great food and conversation.  It was a great night with friends and with Jason.  After everyone left Jason and I played a game with Jeff and Sally and stayed up way past our bedtime.  The next day I did not feel well and spent most of Jan 1st resting.  But we did have our obligatory black eyed peas and cabbage thanks to my sweet Mom.  It is the always the best part of New Year's Day!

Boys Club

This year we played tball through the Boys and Girls Club of Hot Springs.  Hudson had a really fun season with all of his good friends.  He played on the Ritter's team again for the 3rd year.  Before the season began we took Hudson to Dick's Sporting Goods to buy a left handed glove and a real bat.  We also picked up some practice balls so we could play more in the yard. He wore his first pair of baseball pants and cleats this year.
Bushwackers teammates included: Landon Morris, Kason Ford, Marshall Little, Maddex and Mason Ritter, Josiah Owens, Jacob, Julian, and Parker.  We practiced a lot more in the backyard in between games and Hudson decided he liked tball more as the season went on.  Justin Ritter was his coach and assistant coaches included the other dads: Jason, Russ, Kyle, Thomas and Julian's dad.  Hudson began fielding balls and hitting off the pitch more frequently.  He started paying attention more although he still spent a lot of his time talking to his friends on the field.  A couple of times he just walked off the field to get a drink of water.  He liked to clean off the plate with his shoes before getting in the batters box and found it necessary to run over the tee every time he came 'home'.  When he hit off the tee he would say something quietly to the ball.  I'm not certain what he was saying but it was something intimidating and very focused on the ball.  He really enjoyed playing Adelyn's Sanders team this year and we took a picture of the 'red and pink number 5's' as Hudson says after their game.
We had a really fun night at Nom Nom's after one of the later games with a group of players and parents including the Littles, Ritters, and Morris'. The boys had taco meat and popsicles and we laughed and talked. Nana and Papa and Mamaw and Papaw came to most of the games even though it was very hot in mid June when the season ended.  Overall our little #5 had a great season with a lot of growth and bonding.

Kids Day Out

This was the boys last year of Kid's Day Out at Crossgate.  It was bittersweet.  Hudson was going to Kindergarten and Holden was going to Learn and Play across campus for the extended hours.  Hudson's teacher Mrs. Faith was leaving to help her husband with his new landscaping business and Holden was leaving Ms. Bevin's class.  Both boys were leaving behind their friends, although Hudson and Josiah are now in Kindergarten together.  Kason, the third graduate from the program is now attending Lake Hamilton Primary.  Abriella also attends Play and Learn with Holden.  These are precious memories and teachers the boys will always remember.
