Gulf Shores, AL July 2013

We embarked on our first beach trip as a family this year. My mom and Pat joined us and we met April, Craig, Janie, Paul and Jane in Gulf Shores Al.  The six of us stayed in a condo near the rest of our group.  We had the most relaxing, refreshing, and rockin' vacation.  The kids loved the sand and the pool.  They liked the ocean as well but usually preferred swimming in the condo pool.  We ate at The Hangout and the Pink Pony and had a lot of home cooked meals as we all took turns preparing dinner for everyone.  We shopped at the nearby outlets in Foley one night.  Jason, Craig, and Pat were able to see Ft. Morgan.  Our family of 4 visited the Gulf Shores Fishing Pier.  We also took a dolphin cruise and had lunch at Flippers.  April and I ran on the beach most mornings and we were able to spend a lot of time just bonding with our boys.  April and Craig celebrated their 10 year anniversary on the trip and all of the kids stayed with us while they went out.  On the drive over we ate the Wippit in Prattsville, AR and drove on to New Orleans for the night.  My mom and Pat had a free room for us at a very nice hotel.  Unfortunately, we arrived so late ( we didn't leave until after Jason got off of work on Friday) that we really didn't see much of the hotel.  Our drive the rest of the way was pretty awful due to the traffic getting into Gulf Shores but once we arrived that was forgotten.  We will definitely be back at the beach next year!
